Ancient rites remains about 2,200 years ago were unearthed last week during the excavation of a site of ancient nomadic culture in Donghei Valley in Barkol, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
This site was thought to be the biggest of its kind in China, and the discovery of the rites remains only supplied a new proof.
Many potteries, ironwares and bone artifacts were unearthed from the site.
In past excavations, archaeologists usually studied all the unearthed artifacts respectively according to their categories, but this time, they put all the unearthed cultural relics together, and studied them as a whole for the first time, which led to the great discovery of the rites remains.
